Meeting Point: Inskip Point Ferry Crossing on the beach
Date & Time: 8:30 AM, August 29th, 2024
Ferry Departure: 10:00 AM
Day 1:
Lake Wabby: We'll start with the stunning Lake Wabby walking track, a beautiful hike through sand dunes leading to the deepest lake on the island. It's perfect for a refreshing dip!
Eli Creek: In the afternoon, we'll float down Eli Creek, the largest freshwater creek on the eastern coast, with frosty beverages from the 3 Gears Truck. It's a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the natural beauty.
Dunduburra Camp: We'll then make our way to Dunduburra camp, a great spot to unwind with some fun beach games and activities to wrap up the day.
Day 2:
Lake Mackenzie: Our morning starts at Lake Mackenzie, famous for its crystal-clear blue water and pure white silica sand. It's one of the most picturesque spots on the island, ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
Central Station Rainforest: Afterward, we'll explore the incredible rainforest track at Central Station. This area was once a logging station and now offers a peaceful walk among towering trees and lush vegetation.
Champagne Pools: In the afternoon, we'll head to Champagne Pools, natural rock pools filled with bubbling seawater. It's a unique and exhilarating swimming experience with plenty of photo opportunities at the iconic SS Mahino shipwreck, which ran aground in 1935 and adds a historic touch to our adventure.
